Nothing seems to load well. Everything is just black and some buttons, links etc. show up when I mouse over. The whole page shows up only when I scroll. Parts of text remain in text boxes, etc even when I delete/backspace. And parts of the browser often blink.

This is driving me crazy. I even tried refreshing. Nothing's changed. The problems still remain under safe (addons disabled) mode.

Please help me

any difference when you disable hardware acceleration in the firefox menu ≡ > options > advanced > general? (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

@philipp , I think that has fixed it. But how is it that this problem cropped up all of a sudden, about 3 days back? Why didn't it happen before? I have had the same driver right from when I bought my laptop, about 4 years back.

Edit: The problem remains :-(
