I have Flash Crashes up pops the submit crash report I do for the first 20 or so times . Then i start adding in my EMAIL address ,and going to your support pages. and the BEST YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICES CAN DO IS SEND ME A 3rd PARTY SURVEY ? I have done everything I or any of my VERY tech savy friends can think of. I have totaly stumped the tech service guys at goodgame studios. I have sent in long & detailed reports as to the steps I have taken to resolve the issues .only to be sent Survey after survey in response all automatic Tickbox responses not a single hint that anyone has read anything I have sent in at all I wrote over 800 words explaining what I had done methods, software, steps, times only to get another SURVEY ! I can sumerise my feelings in 4 words " Crome Clone Go Home" but I'm not that nasty so for what must be approaching my 60th time I am contacting you. Awaiting your next survey in eager anticipation Linden Ash

Edit, removed email address. This is a public website and indexed by search engines. So a privacy issue and potentially will result in email spamming.

  • You have the option to display your email address in your profile.
  • Checkbox in profile /users/edit
  • You may re add it here in this post if you wish, now that you are aware of the risks.
  • (You may already have obfuscated the email address, but it is getting flagged up)
  • Your email address as used at registration will still be used for automated emails if you subscribe to threads.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

The email box in crash reporter is Not for support purposes but for the small chance the few at Mozilla that can see email address in reports may want to contact the email for further details in trying to fix a problem crashers.

Mozilla does not have customer service and Mozilla certainly would not send you to a random third-party support or a phone number. If Mozilla were to respond by email they would send you to places like here, at Mozilla newsgroups and channels #sumo, #firefox channels in irc.mozilla.org

Do you encounter this on numerous sites, or does it occur only in a particular game or a particular site's games?

This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

(1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

(2) Disable hardware acceleration in Flash

Right-click the media and choose Settings, then the first mini-tab and uncheck the box to use hardware acceleration. More information in this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista and higher)

The protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin has security benefits, but seems to have compatibility issues on some systems. There is a hidden setting for this:

(A) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(B) In the search box above the list, type or paste flash and pause while the list is filtered

(C) Double-click the dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode preference to switch its value from false to true.

This might not take effect until all Flash has been unloaded for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.
