When I attempt to use (say) the Bookmarks list, the type, size etc of the Bookmark folders suddenly start changing - going very small, to very large etc. Then, when I can finally click on a folder the Bookmark names go much the same way and when I can get them to show up in normal type only some of them actually show up in the "sub-list". What is going on here?

I am using Windows 7.

Could this be a result of malware interfering with the programme?

Thanks very much for that. I must say I was having a bit of a problem for a while following your suggestions as Mozilla have upgraded in the meantime and you now have to start at top right. However, I got to "trouble shooting information" in the finish and actually then just "reset Firefox" to its original settings. That seems to have solved the problem, albeit at a small cost of losing some non-essentail info.

Cheers Ray
