I have gone into Tools~Options~Privacy and asked F'Fox to save my history, but it won't. Any thoughts?

In what way can't you make the change?

Does "*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" > Remember by browsing and download history" have a checkmark?

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

Thank you for answering. Changes won't save after restart. Website for preferences . . . too complex for me. Anxious to have history saved, at least for a while. Just changed computers . . . and missing having that history

Hi nollih, alternatively, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, this would reset all settings to default

Hello, i'm try to make more simple the Preferences not saved link from cor-el's reply above.

In your profile folder you have a User.js file. Delete the user.js file.

The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file do not delete the file. Note that some programs create and write in the User.js file also.

More easily you can open the profile folder, from Firefox button(the orange one in the left up corner) > Help menu > Troubleshooting Information > under the Application Basics section > click on Show Folder. A window with your profile files will open. Now find the user.js file and delete it. Close the profile folder, exit firefox and restart it.

thank you
