when yahoo receive my emails and consider any emails as a scam they place the email into a scam folder, this blocks my thunderbird mail by stating THE RETR COMMAND FAILED etc etc. This can only be cleared by going into Yahoo Mail and deleting the suspected scams. My question is are there any other ways I can stop my emails going to Yahoo?

There is no such thing as Thunderbird email. If your email provider is Yahoo, you get your messages through Yahoo, and you'll need to correctly configure the Yahoo server settings, either for Yahoo directly or Sky Yahoo (whatever is correct in your case).

Thunderbird is an email client used to retrieve messages from your email provider, it is no email provider itself by any means.

I have used Mozilla Thundebird for my emails for a good many years and I am very happy using it. I do not like being manipulated into using Yahoo.

You stated in your OP that you're using Yahoo Mail. That implies Yahoo is your email provider. If Yahoo isn't your email provider, please state what your provider is.

You're not being manipulated into using Yahoo in any way.
