Firefox moves behind other windows
Is there a workaround for the following bug?
Open a firefox window and another window under osx (lion or higher). Ensure that firefox is focused. Now switch to another space (for example a fullscreen app) and then switch back. Now firefox moves behind the other window.
This bug is annoying, so please help me if anyone knows a solution. thanks

I finally solved the problem. If you create a second desktop, another problem occures: firefox is always on each desktop. If you open a tab on desktop 1, the tab is also open on desktop 2. I wanted to solve this problem and I clicked right on the firefox icon, then in the menu on options and then on assign to none. This solved not only the problem where firefox was on each desktop but also the focus loosing and stealing.
In short: 1. Open a second Desktop 2. Right click on firefox icon 3. options/assign to None

I believe this is acting as expected. In mac if you click on another application it comes to the front/focus. How was this working before?

thank you for your reply. The behaviour I described differs from that in Chrome. The problem is not that if I switch to another app, this app is focused, the problem is that if I switch back using the four finger swipe, firefox doesn't regain focus but moves behind any other open window.
Ah, so I tried this in version 29.0a, Aurora currently, and I have gone to full screen mode, then used the 4 finger swipe to go between screens while Firefox was still in full screen mode. Indeed the app is not focused when I 4 finger swipe, but as soon as I exit fullscreen mode it is still in focus. I also tested this on Firefox 28.
I think this is expected. When you four finger swipe, do you exit full screen mode first?
I tested it again and now firefox sometimes looses focus and sometimes steals focus. The setup is still the same: for example a finder window and a firefox window on the desktop with the mail app in another space as fullscreen app. Sometimes the bug I first described occurs: on the desktop, firefox is in focus and the finder window is behind the firefox window. If I switch to the mail app using the four finger swipe and then switch back, firefox looses its focus and the finder window is in front of firefox. But sometimes it's the other way round: same setup, but this time the finder window is focused initially. When I now switch to the mail app and back, firefox steals the focus from finder and firefox is in the front. I haven't found out yet, why it is sometimes firefox loosing focus and sometimes firefox stealing focus. I haven't had a situation yet, where firefox acted the same as chrome. You can try to do the same in Chrome and compare the behaviour. Thank you for all your time testing and trying to help.
