Dear Firefox,

I am unable to get LinkedIn (popular site) to render (display) on recent versions of Firefox. Version 27 slightly improved but still displays mostly down left hand of screen.

I have removed all add-ins and checked for Java as suggested but no joy (30 years in IT so know some tricks).

Thanks, Phil_Rob.

I'll start with the general tricks you probably already know, but just in case.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Could you check the address bar for notification icons to the left of the globe or padlock? These can indicate blocked content, blocked plugins, or other issues. If you see an icon, click it for more information, and feel free to ask about it.

Thanks for the tips,

Unfortunately not successful as you say tried most of them. The site looks like it's left justified as per below. Top left in bar shows a greyed out globe which says that "your connection to this website is not encrypted.
