How do I turn off that silly flash warning where the favicon is suppoed to be in the address bar
I recently noticed that the powers that be at Mozilla are now dumbing down firefox to the level of AOL. They added a new 'protect me from myself' feature where there is a little icon in the address bar next to where the favicon is supposed to be that warns about a page using flash. REALLY? You think users are THAT stupid? How do I turn that off. It is so silly and stupid.
BTW, PLEASE stop going down that path. The main reason FF has been superior is that it didn't try to warn me about every little thing on line and protect me from mys elf at every nook and cranny. Crap if you are going to continue this route why not make us type every single character three time and they confirm it with a yes/no dialog so we will be safe???

You can set the default behavior for plugins via Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins

Thanks for the link but it was of no help at all. I added in the plug in linked from that thread and it does nothing. The lego block is still present and when I click it I still get a warning message tying to protect me from myself. Come on Mozilla stop trying to baby sit your users and get rid of all of these absurd warnings and useless crap.
Are there any messages about this plugin in Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins or on the about:plugins page?
This icon at least let you see that plugins are present. If you set the default action to always activate then the plugin shouldn't be blocked.

I have no idea in holy hell what this plugin behavior thing is. All I want is for the stupid little lego icon to disappear form my address bar. I mean isn't it blatantly obvious to anyone with eye sight that a page is using flash? What next, a warning when a page uses CSS, or HTML5? The help you have offered is appreciated but it does not get rid of the lego icon for me.
The p[lug in is present and the combo boxes are present on the settings page. All of them are set to always. I still get the lego icon.
For example when I go to YouTube I get the lego icon warning me that I am dire danger because it uses flash and that I need to approve it. Are there really people that damn stupid that they need to be warned that a site uses flash?
Hi FrogSteaks, the purpose of providing increased transparency is improving user control. It is not always apparent when a page is using a plugin, nor obvious that you want it to do so. Why does Silverlight fire up when I'm composing an email? Can you think of a better way to stop sites from playing annoying background music in a hidden plugin?
Since you are deeply troubled by this icon, take control: use a style rule to hide it, or find an add-on to modify it.

I don't buy your explanation sorry. There is so much that can go on on the web that would need to be warned about if we go that route that 99% of your screen would be warnings. What it boils down to is that i do not need the "please protect me cause I am askairt of the nasty interweb" features crowding up my browser. Like I said earlier, stop trying to protect me from myself! ANYWAY< if I knew how to get rid of the lego with a style I would have already done it. That is (more or less) what i asked in the first place, how do I get rid of the silly lego icon Jesus the way the Mozilla team is going now they will issues mandatory condom use while surfing the web in a few versions.
