when I try to update to the latest version of firefox it tells me to first turn off firefox how do I do that without shutting down
firefox start page says I am not on the latest version of firefox - I have tried and tried to update - at one point it said I had to close firefox before I could install the new one -if I close firefox at that point I just get my desktop and nothing happens sometimes when I click on the update from the start page it opens up a page that says congratulations you have the new version but then it goes back to the start page and tells me I am not on the latest version --- I am not a tech person I am 74yrs old so this is just plain beyond me

hello, are you using www.google.com/firefox as your homepage? this site is no longer maintained and will say the browser is outdated no matter which version you're using to access it. in this case please change your homepage to about:home, that's the new default stetting: How to set the home page
