Everytime I print anything, it prints in mini form.

I am trying to print using Firefox, and every time I print anything, it prints a tiny version instead of the whole page. I do not have this problem when printing with other browsers.

I've checked the Firefox printer settings, they are correct.

I tried to do the "Reset Firefox Printer Setting" suggestion listed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox?esab=a&s=printing+issue&r=1&as=s and when I went to "about:config" nothing called "print.print_printer" showed up in the search results.

I also followed all the suggestions listed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-print-websites#w_changing-the-page-setup and none of them fixed it.

It's a bit annoying that there's no one I can speak directly with about this, as I am at work, and my boss is having the issue, and he's frustrated. For now I've just told him to use Google Chrome, but as Firefox is his default browser, and he's a little "older", it's not that easy for him, and I'm tired of going back and forth with him about it.

Please help. Thank you.

Firefox button > Print -> Print Preview = what is the Scale set for?

100% or Shrink to Fit is usually best.

The shrink to fit box is checked. I've tried to print both ways, with it checked, and unchecked (and it's set at 100%).

This problem started a few days ago for me. I printed some postage on ebay and everything worked OK. The next time the postage was unusable. Everything looks fine in Print-Preview but when I get a printed page in Firefox it shrinks the page to about 10% of a standard 8.5x11.5 inch piece of paper.

The problem is across the board on anything I use firefox to print with. Web pages printed in Chrome work OK.

I have tried the recommended steps including removing all print references in the Prefs file. Nothing seems to help. My settings are 100% shrink to fit.

I am currently using Chrome to bypass this problem and print what I need.

The image below shows a typical web page when printed.

Hi jdbassjr, if you check the printer preferences, are the print_paper_height and print_paper_width wrong? Firefox would usually draw these from the printer's default settings rather than trying to override them.

It does not matter what printer I use I get the same results.

But I checked the printer preferences for two printers and they are set to Letter 8.5x11 inch.

It is a mystery to me. I was printing fine one minute and the next I was getting crap. What is really weird is print preview looks fine.

Here is a screen print of print preview of the same page that was printed above.

Hi jdbassjr, the preview image seems strange to me. The margins look disproportionately large. If you click the Page Setup button what are they set to? If those are set to 0.5 inches, it seems Firefox is laying out the page for a paper size of about 2.5 inches x 4.5 inches.

For comparison, this is my print preview for that article with 0.5 inch margins (there is more blank area on the right side that I omitted).

Margins are set to .5. See this screen print. It is different from the previous one and is the same page. Got me why I am getting different ones.

Link to the page I have done the screen prints on. I have tried to print this on two different printers and I get the same error in both.

Hi jdbassjr, that last preview looks normal, i.e., right size print for the paper. Hopefully that one printed correctly?

I just got a good print.

I am confused...

I don't like things that magically quit working for no reason for days and then magically start working for no reason.

Especially since I just did a print about 45 minutes ago with the screwed up print preview and it did not work. Then get a good print preview and things start working. I haven't changed anything either.

I am not going to argue with success.

I would just like to know why I am a miracle worker.
