I have created several PDF's and when posting, some of the photos have thin horizontal lines through the photo. I have checked other browsers (e.g. Chrome, Lunascape, IE, etc) and no other browser adds the lines. I have also checked other versions of Firefox and it only seems to happen with version 22.0.

This might be a problem with the built-in PDF Viewer.

Does this still happen with the latest development version of the PDF Viewer?

Latest development version of the PDF Viewer (pdfjs) as a Firefox extension:

Thank you for your reply. I did download the newest viewer as you suggested but the problem still persisted. I again checked the PDF with other browsers (all current - Chrome, IE, etc) and the PDF looked fine. I have included two screenshots 011 is using Firefox and 012 is with Chrome. I did not compress the photo (using photoshop) or do anything but now even the text looks wonky in Firefox. I am not sure how to proceed....or just let it go. Thanks for your help and Happy Tuesday.

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

yep, have adobe acrobat.......made sure it was adobe to view it and I just checked and still those darn pesky lines are showing up.....and did close browser and restarted it but still no dicey.....please tell me you see the white lines (and not the light coming in from the woman's right side) these are thin, horizontal lines from the top of the photo to the bottom.....it would look cool if I meant for it to happen.

that is a problem with the pdf, not firefox, the lines show on my internal pdf viever app "evince" too, seems like its a issue with the pdf.

but it looks like its just the one picture that has lines, that may have a issue.

more options

reason why I thought it was firefox is because when I view it on my computer (not the one on our web server), it looks fine.....its only after its uploaded and viewed in firefox, do I see the lines....and it is only with version 22.0....I have co-workers with earlier versions, and no one sees the lines.

And i have checked other browsers too-no lines.....I had read somewhere that there was an issue with compression of images so I did upload two versions - one that I had compressed the images and one left with original image and both had lines when I viewed them in firefox but as soon as I saved them to my computer, there are no lines.
