Before this evening I have been able to right click and Save As pictures on various sites easily. Now, tonight after my brother used my computer, I cannot do that. It doesn't give me the ability to save a PNG, BMP, GIF, JPEG, or any type of image file. The file type line is completely blank and won't allow me to do a thing.

Hi Phil32,

That looks very strange. I know that the Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

I am new to these forums and still have a lot to learn, so there may be a simpler way to fix this behavior, but if you really need to get it working again quickly, Restore Firefox may be able to help you.

Please let us know if this helps.

Thanks!!

- Ralph

Hello Ralph. Thanks for the fast reply.

I wrote that I had tried resetting Firefox, but I guess the part I wrote it in doesn't show up for regular users. I'm also new. heh

Regardless, it didn't help. :/

hi Phil32,

Welcome to the forums! =)

If you have already tried using the Reset Firefox feature, please try using a new profile by following these simple steps:

  1. Start up the Profile Manager
  2. Create a new profile
  3. Select the new profile and click on Start Firefox

Please let us know if this works.

Thanks!!

That did not work either. I'm going to try uninstalling.

Also note that you should update to Firefox 17.0.1 immediately.

I tried uninstalling, removing everything, and updating to Firefox 17.0.1. Still nothing. I guess I'll just use a different browser from now on since Firefox is just aggravating me and it is the only browser with this problem.

Hi Phil32,

I'm sorry to hear that the troubleshooting steps mentioned did not resolve your issue. We understand your frustration, and hope that you will give Firefox another try at a later date.

Thanks!!
