Remembering Form History... is this a script?
Hi I was wondering if ANYONE KNOWS if the feature in Firefox that remembering 'form history' is considered: generated by a script, macro, automated entry systems or automated device? I enter a LOT of sweepstakes and MOST of them say that you cannot enter by using script, macro or the alike. I USE to use roboform but I've COMPLETELY uninstalled it because of this reason.
Was wondering if any of you Techies out there know this for a FACT if it IS or isn't! I'd really appreciate KNOWING. My HANDS and FINGERS will thank you... well, either way even if I STILL have to 'manually' enter everything. At LEAST I'll have peace of mind KNOWING I'm doing it legally and NOT getting disqualified because that's what happens.. and then it's just BIG TIME wasted!
Thanks in advance for your help and time in reading my question!

It is a built-in feature of the browser, not a separate script. However, I'm not sure exactly how the code is written, i.e., whether it is C or JavaScript. Still, I don't think this is what the rules were meant to discourage; I'm fairly certain they want to stop automated entries which are created entirely by software.
They may be testing for key presses in such a case if they won't allow pasting or other ways to enter the code apart from using the keyboard.
Auto-fill places the text directly in the input filed AFAIK.
Auto-fill extensions may be simulating key presses to enter data in a form, so you can give those a look.

Thank you both for your reply! I appreciate the help! @Cor-el... regarding 'key presses' which yes I think some want to make SURE that you are ACTUALLY on the page and taking time to fill things in... I was just wondering... do you think the 'double click' fill in would count as 'key presses'?? You know how Firefox will have your info already in there and on SOME forms you can just double click it all in... just wondering if THAT would count and 'log in' as key presses...
Also @jscher2000 that is FOR SURE about the 'automated' entries! I KNOW for SURE they do NOT allow those programs like... only ONE I know of is something called 'Nija' or something like that... but I'm so just a little paranoid now because the RULES have gotten SOO STRICT regarding making sure you MANUALLY enter or JUST not use those programs... my hands & fingers are hurting, lol... was just hoping that 'double clicking' the info in would be ok :)
Thanks again for both your help :)
