I have i mac OS X ver 10.6.8 desktop I use fire fox and the message comes up on my screen with the words: security and stability update for Firefox is available:

Firefox 8.0.1 it is strongly recommended to apply for update for Firefox as soon as possible.

I click for update and it does not update but shows the window doing update ; the action never ends. After few hours i stop it
