Non functioning Gmail Manager blocks access to firefox. Work around?

more options

On cliking icon for the latest version of firefox i get 'Gmail Manager' asking for password which when correctly entered it refuses to accept as valid. As there is no way of confirming passwords or providing alternative eMail address there is no way of by-passing this block on access to firefox. I have even tried reinstalling latest Firefox version without improvement.

I am not the only poerson to my personal knowledge who has encountered this problem and been forced to readopt use of the less satisfactory but fuctioning 'google chrome'

Gmail manage must be fixed immediately if Firefox funcitionality is to be restored and your user bade retained. Either work around is required to correct this recurring difficulty or the Gmail manager replaced or redesigned.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.
A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)

  • You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.

Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.
