-> Start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down SHIFT key while starting Firefox

  • As an alternative method, use Win + R keys combination and enter one of the following in the Windows Run box:
  • firefox -safe-mode
  • "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
  • "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

-> Firefox Safe Mode window will appear -> DON'T SELECT ANY OPTIONS. just click Continue in Safe Mode

Check and tell if it starts using Firefox Safe Mode.

-> Troubleshooting extensions and themes

yes, I have tried to start it up in safe mode and it still does the same thing, nothing! I search all over the firefox troubleshoot data base with this issues and I am still getting the same result. I have check my firewalls, ran commands, and even disable my adds on to see if that will work but still firefox wont open. Not even my adobe reader will open now . Oddly enough, my internet explorer is still working but it crashes alot. This sucks

-> Create a New Profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

-> Basic Troubleshooting: Make a New Profile

-> If that New Profile works then you can recover your Bookmarks and Passwords from the Old Profile.

-> Recovering important data from an old profile

Check and tell if its working.

I found out what the problem was. I kept getting a error message in my internet explore about my adobe reader having a error 103. So I looked it up on the adobe page and found out that the new adobe reader X doesn't support firefox version 5 and above, so thats why it wont let me open firefox or display any PDF files. Once I uninstall Adobe reader X and downgraded to Adobe Reader 9 everything went back to normal. My firefox open without any problems and I can now ope PDF files again!! So don't upgrade your Adobe Reader to version X until you read what it is comparability with!!

I am using both Firefox 6.0 and Adobe Reader 10.1 on Windows XP platform. I don't have any issue using them together. If you are having problems because of Adobe Reader Incompatibility, see these articles:

I really liked the Foxit reader for PDF files. It did not cause problems, though I used it only as a helper application.
