I got message indicating there was a revised version of Firefox so I clicked on the button to allow the upgrade to happen. Now I find it is a beta version (5.0) of Firefox. I do not want to be a beta tester and want to go back to the previous version.
When I tried to give this as feed back, nothing happened when I clicked on the "Submit Feedback" button.

The Final Release version of Firefox 5 was released on June 21, 2011.
To check which version your have currently installed, do the following:
- click Help > Troubleshooting information
- on the new display, next to ""Build Configuration", click the link shown (the link should be: about:buildconfig)
- on the page with the title about:buildconfig, click the link next to "Built from"
- this display should show "FIREFOX_5_0_RELEASE FIREFOX_5_0_BUILD1" if it is the Firefox 5 Release version released 2011-06-21; mine is highlighted in yellow.
What does yours show on that last page?

It is possible that you are still on the beta update channel if you ever installed a Firefox 4 beta version or a release candidate.
You can check that by looking at the pref app.update.channel on the about:config page.
If the value of that pref is beta then it is better to download and install the latest Firefox 5 release.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.
You were most likely updated from Firefox 4 to Firefox 5 Release version since it happened this week.
