won't open a new tab
All of a sudden today, when I click on the new tab button (the+) it will not open a tab. It worked fine yesterday. I tried to open a new tab out of the File menu - no luck. Also I tried ctrl-t, again no luck. I can't upgrade to 4 yet because my antivirus is not supported.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
- Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
- Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Thanks Tony, that was exactly it.
I don't know how that tool bar got there but it was on the screen this morning. I hid it but I didn't uninstall it. As soon as I did, the problem went away.
