running MacOX 10.4.11(TIGER); no longer supported by Apple, keep getting 'update plugins" for Java, Java and your site says apple supports their versions of Java. What's to do? Kinda happy without 10.5

In the past, I have also gotten 'update your version' for Quiktime, flash players, etc. I have disabled the QT player, and I don't get the warning for the flash players, but now I'm getting the trouble light for my version of Java. Went to the Java site, and it tells me to go to apple software update, did that, and it says my software is all up to date, probably because they haven't offered support for the Tiger (10.4.11) version operating system for about a year. My laptop is not the newest, but its not like I can run out and buy another one, and there isn't too much I need to do with it anyway, but I don't want to open up vulnerabilities to myself or anything else. If I ignore these warnings, will they just stop, or can they be turned off? thanks for any follow up suggestions, Clogan
