When I start Firefox it runs okay. But sometime during my use this gray mini screen shows up and it says Unable to update. This started when I downloaded the new 3.6 Firefox. I did just go and update my plug-ins today, but this message still pops up. It implies that I am not the system administrator, but this is a single user computer laptop and I have the only password to let anything download onto my computer.

You are using an out-of-date Firefox version. The latest version is 3.6.13. Update Firefox.

  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
