Your UserAgent in More system details... also shows the date 20100316 for the Firefox 3.6.2 release, not 20101026 the date of 3.6.12 . You need to reset those preferences.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent

type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.
Filter = general.useragent.
Right-click the preferences that are bold, one line at a time, and select Reset.
Then restart Firefox

Which version do you see at the top of the Help > About Mozilla Firefox window?

See Find what version of Firefox you are using

If you have the Firefox 3.6.2 version then check if you have only one Firefox version installed by doing a search for the firefox.exe program.

If you no longer have the Firefox 3.6.12 version then you need to reinstall that version or update via Help > Check for Updates.

@the-edmeis... This is simply changing the version in the config, but this doesn't changes the Actual Version.

@cor-el Yes it shows 3.6.2 and Updater says that a newer version 3.6.12 is available!

Can you please tell me HOW is it possible that SkipScreen is distributing a NEWER version which Mozilla isn't?

If SkipScreen is an extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) then such a change isn't possible.

Did you check that you have only one Firefox version installed and that you didn't switch to that older version ?

Make sure that if you update that you have the required Administrator rights to update files in the "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\" program folder. Otherwise the update might end up in the VirtualStore folder and in that case it wont' work properly.

See SkipScreen says that it should run a different setup, CLOsing firefox. When Installing SkipScreen, i saw it was downloading Firefox 3.6.2 files, as it said! And yes, the version was changed, but then I checked out firefox's official site, it said Upgrade to 3.6.12.

yes I am very sure that I am not switching to any older version, but the addon has changed my version to a NEW version according to them!

But, its quite shocking when I see my version 3.6.2 as old over 3.6.12.

Shallit not be given a check as the Addon is being distributed in Mozilla Addons Gallery.

Anyways, I would like to mention that, I have changed back now to Firefox 3.6.12.
