I have tried and tried in vain to leave feedback for firefox on many issues... I have seemed to have found a way in.. by asking what no-one else has.. surely I cannot be the only one.? I have turned off the thing that lets firefox upgrade my browser on their own as it just screws up my computer when one of the 3. 6s editions was upgraded to my computer i have had nothing but trouble,, worse than the old days when I had IE.. I had such a job finding somewhere to get an older edition 3.5 firefox would not let me !!! bad enough on my PC.. I have a laptop running windows 7.. what a nightmare firefox is on that,, everytime I click to go online, firefox says it wants to do an update.. I click OK.. says it cannot do an update as firefox is running.. well you are in a loop then for a few hours.!!! now I have learn't go to task manager end the process..!! then when you click on firefox again and you are asked if you will allow firefox to do an Update,, SAY NO!!! then you can get on with your life... I have come to this place today as firefox now wants me to update to the latest 3.6.10.. NO WAY.. when it says read more details.. go there it says you can leave feedback at this place,, click it,, it takes you to a place where the lucky few have somehow been able to leave feedback.. so you think great can finally let someone know what it is like to be a user... SO is there a place you can leave your comments... NO...... so there is No BLOOMIN WAY that I am downloading a new version that upfront they are telling you it isn't going to work well, your extensions will probably not work... and if you get fed up you can go back to the last edition that didn't work........ come on FIREFOX you used to be really great.!!! now you are Pant's..

Feedback can be submitted here:

Named after the king of "feedback".

Hi what is the point of that?? No-one answers you..... In fact the proud boast is ""don't expect an answer"" If you are having prob's with your firefox, you need to know it will get sorted out, at the very least you need to know someone is listening... we are not all into trying to fix things all the time.. we just want to be able to use our computers.. when we want to..and how we want.. I must admit that I am getting into trying out different browsers... Firefox is getting to be how IE was.. when we all switched to Firefox for something better...

Sorry, my understanding of "feedback" and "comments" differs from yours. This is the forum for support questions and answers

Which security software (firewall) do you have?

If you have such issues with updating then a possible cause is security or cleanup software that is removing or blocking files and prevents Firefox from working and updating properly.

Extensions are third-party software and such software can stop working at any time. That shouldn't happen with a minor update (3.6.9 -> 3.6.10), but can always happen with a major update (2.0.x to 3.x or 3.5.x to 3.6.x) and will likely happen with the coming change to 4.0

That's OK... I just take feedback to mean exactly what it does mean.!! So I do expect an answer and that Improvement will take place and that I will be informed of that..

Maybe the title on that Page need to be changed to reflect what it's point of being there is...

Hello. Thanks for asking. I have Security essentials running and windows firewall ,, do you suggest that I turn these off to do the update from Firefox.?

It was from 3.5- to 3.6- and from then on.. to try and sort it out, in the end I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it.. all was well for a short time, then it has started behaving exactly the same...

OH GOD --- NOT 4.0

The thing is, I know from reading loads of comments and issues, from all over the web, when I am searching around trying to fix a problem,, That there are Hundreds and Hundreds of people that are really interested in constantly messing about with their computer, going into their Bios, moving things, uninstalling everything and starting all over again.... Sorry but I am not one of them.. I just want my computer to work without issue's,,

Didn't firefox used to release a Beta edition,? I might be wrong but I always took that to mean that the 'Beta' edition was experimental and that various like minded people who were into all of those fixing issues scenarios,,, ironed out the bugs... Sure, the odd one might end up on the proven edition... But the way things have been,,, it is like we are all on the Beta edition, constantly!!

The beta is indeed only meant for testing by experienced users who can handle issues, but there will be a time that the beta testing finishes and that it will be an official release. Firefox 4.0 will be a big change, so if you have a lot of add-ons or (obtrusive) security software then problems can be on the way. A lot of problems are caused by security software that either wants to do too much or isn't programmed properly. Such security software should do its work in the background and not add special features to a browser like Firefox. Companies do not have the resources to keep testing if their programs still work with each update (or they take their time) and that causes disappointment to user that encounter any issues that arise.

I Hardly have any add-ons at all.. I previously told you that I have microsoft's security essentials running which seems a tiny program,, To the best of my knowledge it does not add any features to Firefox...

I never have to do anything to the Essential software.. The most hungry program I have running on my computer is Firefox,,, If you go to 'Task Manager' and 'Processes' Firefox is always eating up the memory..

Your reference to other company's having to keep testing to see if they still work with Firefox and their latest update... let alone a big jump such as you are warning of when the 4.0 edition comes along.. To me that is all backwards, Surely the Browser should work with all the programs that we are already using..

I felt that the 3.5 firefox was pretty solid, I never had a single issue.! Mostly I assumed that when an update came it was a security update or that a bug had been reported by someone... Cannot really see the point of big change for changes sake... Not when your computer starts crashing all the time and you keep getting apologies from firefox saying how embarrassed they are...

I would like to thank you for your discussions and information in advance of the impending 4.0 edition.. I think it is time for me to seek a new browser, I do not want to spend my time moaning and complaining about something like this... I have for a week now been trying 'Chrome' It seems that it just gets on with it and works,, I don't even think about my Browser, just what page I am on and what I am doing at the time.. There are so many Browsers that I was not aware of, before all the upsets with Firefox..

I am going to give 'Opera' a go to see how that is,, it is supposed to be really fast and very secure. When I put windows 7 on my laptop a link was installed to--- http://www.browserchoice.eu/BrowserChoice/browserchoice_en.htm--- So there are plenty to try.. which I might as well do, as it is no different than having to keep re-installing Firefox... as to try a new one....
