PDF files being saved in a different location than

Hii,

I am currently using the latest version of LibreWolf/Firefox on Windows 11 Pro. I am having issues with the location of the files being saved in the Default location, i.e. C:\Users\kumbi\Downloads. All the files get saved in this location except those in PDF format.

The files in the PDF format, for some reason, get saved to the Temp folder: C:\Users\kumbi\AppData\Local\Temp.

I also use another system where the situation is the same.

I have checked all the configurations and settings and could not figure out a fix for this problem.

Please let me know how do I fix this. I am looking forward to your response.

Regards,

B. Bipin Kumar

Do you have the same issue in Firefox? If not, this sounds like a job for LibreWolf. ---> https://matrix.to/#/#librewolf:matrix.org

By default, Firefox opens PDFs in a tab. Most likely you have that setting, or maybe you switched Firefox to open PDFs in Acrobat or another external viewer.

When Firefox is saving a download to open immediately, it normally uses the Downloads folder. However, there is a preference to save those particular files in the system Temp folder instead. You could check in about:config to see whether browser.download.start_downloads_in_tmp_dir was switched to true.
