I see no microphone on in the address bar for Firefox. I read that it is supposed to be (standard feature?) on the left side. How do I restore or enable this feature? For good measure, would someone please send me an image (snip& sketch?) of the address bar showing what this looks like. First time posting so I don't even know if one can attach or include images in a reply.

It's only there, when the webpage wants to use it.

Thanks TyDraniu. Following those permissions for the microphone, I see I have (only) YouTube allowed. I tried to add "DuckDuckGo.com" to this (and thus reveal the microphone icon) but I was not able to add this, and maybe I'm going down the wrong path? My objective is to use either Firefox and/or DuckDuckGo in a similar way to how Google shows and allows me to use the microphone in the search bar: the attached shows what this currently looks like in Firefox. Hoping my objective is clear, I'd just like to use voice in place of typing like I did with Chrome. Might there actually be an add-on as the way of doing this? As an aside, I'm still a little confused as to the Firefox/DuckDuckGo relationship since I have kicked Google Chrome to the curb (not even installed on my newly built PC with MSI/AMD mobo, Win10). I have been using/building/configuring PCs since 1983 DOS 3.0; everything is just sooo complicated now, sometimes it makes me wish for the old days!

DuckDuckGo does not support speech recognition. You can use the Windows dictation feature (Win+H) to do voice typing instead.
