I can import my active emails, but not my non-active ones (old ones I check sometimes). I have done the first and tried some of the second, without success. Any help?

I would like to re-import my non-active emails (those no longer in use). I check sometimes dates and addresses. I could keep for the past 20 years (or about). I have tried various instructions, but my machine says 'error'. I do have a number of backups, from different dates. Any help?

If I understand correctly, you have message folders from defunct accounts. In Windows FIle Explorer, these usually appear as two names, such as inbox and inbox.msf. If you can identify these, you can copy to the profile at c:\users\<yourid>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles\<profilename>\Mail\Local Folders\
