Not sure which version you are using, but in version 115, I just need to click on View -> Layout and select Message Pane. Just pressing F8 also toggles it on/off. I do have the Menu Bar visible.

All of my options under View > Layout are grayed out. My preview pane was turned off during the update, but I have no way to turn it on. But the F8 did work. Will the menu for "View > Layout" be fixed in next update?
