I cannot connect to "currently.att.yahoo.com in Firefox. I get an error message about yahoo not being available in China after 2021. I can connect to that site in Bing. What is up?

I assume you are not in China and do not normally need a VPN to access Yahoo?

Try disabling all your extensions and in Connection Settings change "Use system proxy settings" to "No proxy".

You can also try a different DNS service.
