HTTPS not available error message

more options

Error message says: "HTTPS not available on this site" Choices: : "Go back" or "Continue to HTTP only site". If I choose "Continue to HTTP site", the address bar shows that the address is indeed HTTPS! Have I been hacked? Do I have a virus? I can find no help elsewhere. I have saved the error message but, using your "Browse" below will not show it in my documents.

Does it work if you allow to go to the HTTP version of the website as in some cases a redirect only works via HTTP and you will eventually end up on a secure HTTPS site ?

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?

Are you using a proxy or VPN?

You can check the connection settings.

  • Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":
