Hi

I've tried to search for a solution but couldn't find anything. I'm using Thunderbird 91.9.1 on Linux (Ubuntu), however I've tried this also on Windows 10 and exact same problem. I'm using the owl plugin to integrate to Microsoft O365 - that part works just fine. My problem is I've imported a gpg key and when I try to decrypt emails, the lower left bar just says "Loading message" but nothing happens - no error messages or nothing.

I can decrypt the same message using the same key with GnuPG on the command line, so nothing wrong with the key. I've also tried using an external key instead on importing directly into Thunderbird - same result. Is there any logging I can enable that would help me troubleshoot this, google didn't give me any good answers?

Grateful for any ideas. Regards Christian

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Hi christ1 Yes, thank you - that was very helpful. I returned the following error. NS_ERROR_FAILURE: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsILoadGroup.removeRequest] protocolhandler.js:184 This seems to be inside a function called retrieveMessage within owl - so the failure seems to be related to owl rather than Thunderbird/GnuPG. I'll take it up with owl. Big thank you! Regards Christian

Just importing the key isn't enough. Did you also set up OpenPGP encryption for the account? Note, as per the Owl developer they do not officially support encryption. There is this silly disclaimer: https://support.beonex.com/help/en-us/4/16

Hi Thanks for replying! Yes I have read that post and am aware that they do not officially support gpg but I don't see how that would cause my problems. As for setting up "OpenPGP for the account" - I did set, what I think is all the relevant settings for that identity yes. However it's perfectly possible that I've missed some checkbox or similar somewhere, but I can't for the life of me find such a setting. So any pointers there are very welcome.

When I open an encrypted message i get the OpenPGP "mini menu" in the top right corner (see image) - so it looks like it's working but it is simply not... Regards Christian

Is there anything related in the Error Console (Ctrl-Shift-J)?
