My old computer crashed and a new is on the table. I have downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird again and I have a backup made by Mozilla Backup onan USB. When I try to use the Mozilla Backup to restore i lokks fine, I have the backup file in the window and it starts working. It works a long time with the "e-mail" part and than all the other parts says "OK" on by one. BUT, when opening the Thunderbird---nothing there. Despite the Restore has worked a long time nothing is to find in the Thunderbird. ? I have used the same metod earlier with other transfers between computers without any problems.

Please out there, help---what can I do?

When you install Thunderbird, it creates a default folder. That's why it is not seeing yours. If you restored your profile to c:\users\(yourID)\appdata\roaming\thunderbird then it is just a few steps to recover it. Start thunderbird and when it prompts for a new email id, click the 'home' tab in upper left. Then, right-click near top of screen and activate 'menu bar'. Then, click help>more troubleshooting information, and scroll down to Profiles in left sidebary and click 'about:profiles' and yours should be visible to select.
