Usually a .lnk (.LNK) file is a Windows shortcut to a local program or document. So my guess is that Firefox.lnk is a shortcut to Firefox.

Which kind of Sync is not working? For example, Firefox Sync, through your Firefox Account, or a different website, or a different program. More details would really help.
