The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server pop3.live.com responded: Message corrupte
One computer gets this error on outlook server account. It can't download anything or access the account. But other computers runnning thunderbird do NOT get this error, they can fully access the outlook server, etc. So I don't see this is a problem with the server. On the problem computer i have tried reinstalling thunderbird, deleting profile, deleting inbox to get rid of corrupted in box, etc., as suggested in various posts but does not help. I suspect there is something in the computer registry (??) that maintains this problem in the thunderbird software on this computer (running windows 7). Help is sought.

may be this will be helpful. disable AV for test , or add mail-server address/domain-names in Allowed Exception list of firewall/antivirus/security-suite software, etc.
TB = Thunderbird.
many online mail service providers (MSP) & ISPs require using App-Key or Mail-Key or OAuth2, etc. so if your email account in the computer which has problem , is not same (email-address) as what you use in other computers (which are working) , then goto online service provider's website for that email-address (in computer which has TB problems) ... in that website , find the option to generate/create App-Password or App-Key or Mail-Key. delete earlier password from TB , goto "Saved Passwords" < Passwords < Security < TB options/preferences. restart TB. goto "Sent" folder in that email-adresss's mail-account in TB. add the key code as a password in password-field, & select "save pasword". in TB's "Server Settings" for that mail-account, make sure to select "Normal Password" authentication method & "SSL/TLS" security/encryption. now that email-address's mail-account in TB should begin to work.
if mail-account in TB was created for IMAP access, then use only IMAP supported mail-servers. if mail-account in TB was created for POP access, then use only POP supported mail-servers.
