Hello,

So yesterday I experienced an error in Firfox browser. out of nowhere Some protocol error. This was resolved after restarting the browser. But also since yesterday my Thunderbird does not fetch new emails. Not sure if this is related though. No errors, just nothing.

Facts version 78.5.0 on Windows 10: - I have setup 7 accounts with different ISP's - I have tried disabling add-ons - I have tried disabling firewall and network security - Sending mails does work - Receiving mails on another cumputer works

Basicly I am clueless as to what to do to fix the problem... Please help. Many thanks.

Could you be one of the eset folk that got the buggy version?

If you use ESET NOD32 antivirus, go to Setup > Advanced Setup > Web and Email > Excluded applications and add Thunderbird to excluded apps. Pausing the antivirus or disabling the Email client protection didn't worked for me.

I know one other person that had the exact same problem and was solved following the above mentioned steps. If you're not using NOD32, I don't know what's happening.

Thank you very much for your advise.

I use ESET and can receveive mail on 2 out of 7 accounts again :)

However the main account is still having trouble: Certificate error. I can choose "confirm securtiy exeption" but nothing happens.

After some research it I tried disabling SSL/TLS in ESET web and email settings, but makes no difference... Do you have any suggestions?

From 1.12. I am unable to receive messages. POP3 Disabling SST/TLS in account settings helps, but same configuration, other PC, same network, same OS, same server, just different username works ok. It is something with thunderbird.

name@domain: Connected to server xxx

OK, on this machine helped exclude TB in ESET

For my situation all is working again. The Certificate error popup is solved. I changed the certificate, from mail.mydomain.nl to the mail.myhostingprovider.nl

All works well now. Many thanks for your guidance!
