I upgraded to the new version of Thunderbird not long ago and I was not able to get any new emails. The settings seemed to be correct but would not retrieve any new emails.

I decided to download a copy of Thunderbird and reinstall. When reinstalling I got the message - "A newer version of Thunderbird may have made changes to your profile ..." - I hit the Create New Profile button and set up a new profile. Now I have all of my emails download that are on the server - 1 month's worth - and up to date.

The problem is that now I have lost all of my old emails, message filters etc. Can anyone assist me with getting all of these back?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

I Managed to find my old profile and copied across into v78, but still have original problem of not being able to access new email. I will close this and add separately.

It happened again - I got the "A newer version...." and set up a new profile.

I now have three profiles setup under Roaming\Appdata. The oldest one - which I think I need - does not contain a "Mail" folder.

I do have a really old profile copied that does have a "Mail" folder but I seem to be missing a couple of years of old email at this stage, even if I can recover from that one.
