Thunderbird 78 different password for sending and receiving emails
I have a setup with different servers for incomping and outgoing mails (for spam filtering reasons). It appears that I am unable to set different passwords in TB 78. Is there a work around?

When adding the account to Tbird, leave the password field blank. When you click Done, you'll be prompted for the passwords, first for the incoming then for the outgoing.

To be quite clear, the send password is entered when you first send out an email, there is nowhere to set it in the configuration.
my pass word box is missing? can't input required p.w. When trying to reconfigure the email acct. respose is inbound server exists?? won't continue?
I have exactly the same problem like lonestar17.
Since the update, I cannot receive any email.
When I rollback to previous version I had to reset password inside Thunderbird to make it work. Somehow the update corrupted password.
How can I edit password manually in version 78+?!?! There is no password field/box.

Options -> Saved Passwords -> Show Passwords.
Unfortunately it is not there.
Somehow I have managed to force TB to ask me for a new password (I was editing password type in the account settings).
When it asked me, I just reentered it, and now all OK.
You're looking in the wrong place. It's under Options, not Account Settings.
