Window in a frame

Hi, i have this issue for several months already: I have FF set as default browser. When I open it with the FF icon in Windows, everything works fine, but when FF is closed and I open a link (for example in another browser), it opens up FF, but in a weird unclickable "frame". Until yesterday the frame was only above my window. When I want to change tabs, I go with the cursor all the way up the window. Normally it's OK - I click there and the tab changes. But when this problem occurs - there is this "dead area" of one or several pixels hight that don't react on clicks. Since today there is an additional frame on the sides of my window - white frame that also is "dead" for clicks. That messes up my workflow with two browsers and my way of inprecise, but comfortable mouse usage.
