Firefox doesn't redirect you to any page to update Firefox. Instead, the update notification displays in the bottom (usually bottom-right) corner of your screen.

It sounds like maybe you have a piece of malware on your computer that pointed you to a fake update website to download an illegitimate version of Firefox.

To be safe, I'd recommend uninstalling Firefox from your computer completely by manually deleting the installation folder. On Windows, that's usually stored in either of these two directories (you should delete both, if they exist):

  • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

Then, you can reinstall Firefox from the official Mozilla website.

I'd also highly recommend scanning your computer for malware, both to eliminate whatever displayed the fake update page and to ensure that no damage was done to your computer by completing the fake update. You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
