hi les, according to your system details you have an addon installed that by the description is responsible for this behaviour: "Dark Background and Light Text". also, unrelated to the question at hand you're using three list-based adblocking extensions (ublock, adblock, ghostery), which isn't a good idea and usually causes performance problems...

I enjoy a dark background for eye strain, but i can not read black text on many web sites and gmail which have no / transparent backgrounds . How can I simply create(?) a white background in FF. FF color controls are so limited.

Also: An Updated and Expanded color adjustments color preferences control panel for all aspects of FF browser would be great. Simply: "Background": Transparent, Black, White, and Alt-color chooser/picker radio buttons

- suffering.

Thanks
