Upgrade disables theme
I'm disappointed that, once again an upgrade is incompatible with the theme I use in Thunderbird. The default is so cryptic and schematic!

There are the default themes, which now offer Light and Dark plus using a theme with the operating system colour.
Other themes are not created by Thunderbird. They are created by independent authors who make their themes compatible with various versions of Thunderbird.
If you are using a theme created by someone then perhaps you should be communicating with them.
Some addon themes that work in TB 68 Monterail Full Dark 2 Monterail Dark 2 DeepDark for Thunderbird 13.0.2
there is 'Phoenity Icons' which can add some colour.
It is possible to alter certain aspects of Thunderbird via a 'userChrome.css' file where the code controls what you see and overrides the default.
Thanks. I've added the Phoenity icons and will hope that the creator of my past theme upgrades.

Themes are basically at end of life. Some Theme authors are persisting with their themes as add-ons, but the built in themes can now override the theme setting, so it can have some rather odd looking repercussions sometimes.
