FF ESR (on Pi 4) seems to change the basic look of some web pages. I assume its FFs fault cuz the Pi native browser chromium doesn't do it.

Screenshots: I don't even see a different web address for google, but it's different. I only get mobile wikipedia pages. That's not what I expected when I opened amazon.

Is there an option in about:config (?) to stop this madness?

After some more research today:

Creating a new string in "about:config" did the trick.

Name: "general.useragent.override" Type: "string" Example Value: "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0"

The user agent has information about the browser in it and sometimes websites need that to know how to display the page. The fact that you to manually change it in the settings suggests that a program (security software, etc) is changing the default one.

You have a rather uncommon OS with being on a Raspbian device that websites may not recognize. Also you run an older Firefox 60 ESR version. Is there no newer Firefox version available for this platform ?

@wesley As this is a newly installed system, I'm not aware of ony security programms. The original was somthing with "arm", which I replaced with "x86_64". So websites just read arm as mobile?!
