I just recently bought a new Ubuntu laptop that has Thunderbird installed. I am having calendar sync issues
When trying to set up sync, I have installed the google provider, but am unable to create a new calendar, that choice does not seem to exist. I have done this before, and am convinced that I am doing something wrong, but am unable to figure out what. if anyone has step by step instructions, they would geatly appreciated.

There was a recent problem with Google's OAuth authentication, that affects mail accounts and calendar sync. TB 68.2.1 fixes the problem for mail logins, but until the Provider add-on is updated, I suggest you apply the workaround in comment 22 of the bug report and see if it fixes google calendar issues, especially if your TB version is older than 68.2.1.
Hi, same problem. I have new PC and migrate (copiing account folder) not working propertly. Delete all and I install new THB 68.2.1 (auto with lighting) with addons: provider for G.Cal. gcontact
Calendar not possible connect to google. After fill maild and psw and and access, not load any calenda and window is empty.
Contact sync via gcontact not working propertly. on google is 1300 contacts, synced 744 after reset account in gconatct, sync 820. and nex reset sync 400. Log window not displayed.

Did you make the preference change in Config. editor as mentioned in the bugzilla link?
Tools/Options(Mac:Preferences; Linux:Edit/Preferences)/Advanced/General/Config. editor, or Options/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor from the 3-bar AppMenu.
updated gdata addon is available
