Random today, firefox 69.0 (standard firefox from the Ubuntu repo) on Pop!_OS 19.04 (running KDE plasma) started randomly becoming super unresponsive. I would type and it would then proceed to freeze for a second, then choppily spit out my characters one by one. This happened even after wiping the .mozilla folder, after purging configurations, after refreshing firefox and after launching it in safe mode. Any idea as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

Btw, memory and CPU usage is perfectly normally for firefox, with about:config open it was using about 155MB of RAM and consuming around 5% CPU.
