Cannot open or uninstall Thunderbird. Receiving Upgrade error message. How can I repair Thunderbird?
On trying to open Thunderbird or trying to Uninstall or run in safe mode the following error message appears on screen.' (Setup) Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Thunderbird. Do you want to reboot now?(Yes/No)' Having tried to restart the same problem persists. I have tried to reinstall as the Mozilla support page suggests but I receive this same message before I can run the setup. Not sure what to do next as this message appears with any other help suggestion I have tried. Thanks

OK try this - it is more direct method.
In Win 32: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird
In Win 64: C:\Program Files (x86) \Mozilla Thunderbird
delete the Mozilla Thunderbird folder.
Wait a short while whist this occurs. then empty the 'Recycle Bin'
Now try downloading fresh version and install.

Hi Toad Hall. It isn’t running in task manager and I can’t uninstall using add remove programs as the error message then pops up and there is only 1 version in the program files.
