How can I specify where to download each file individually as in chrome, rather than having everything dumped into a single folder?
Do I need an addon or is there any way of getting firefox to do this? Seems like a basic thing to have separate folders for media/docs/etc.

Type about:preferences#advanced<enter> in the address bar. Under Files and Applications you will find Downloads.
