Dear Whomever,

After my last posting in reference to Firefox 64.0 regarding browser trouble, I deleted almighty Firefox from my PC for several days and went to using Internet Explorer.

However, as I.E. 11 turned out to have its own issues regarding Facebook and Twitter, I went in search of a decent and executable download for Firefox to see if anything different would occur. My earlier grief with the ability to Log-In to my “Capital One” account had abated, but now I have a different question. How do I go about removing/deleting the “Download” indicator in Firefox 64.0? In addition, may anyone be able to explain why it is that the add-on known as “AdBlockPlus” cannot be tweaked/adjusted for websites where I don’t want it to be used?

Respectfully,

Gregory P. Falasz

Dear Gregory, it's good news that Firefox is mostly working again. Regarding --

Do you mean the arrow on the toolbar to access recent downloads? To remove any button from the toolbar:

right-click > Remove from Toolbar

If that doesn't work (!!) you can drag it off in Customize mode. See: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

Success?

Regarding Adblock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ad.../adblock-plus/), when you click the toolbar button and try to make an exception for the current site there, is it not available or not working? They have online help pages and their own forum if the extension isn't working as expected:

Actually, you shared your extensions list, and you don't have Adblock Plus, you have a different extension. You could try switching to see whether you have better luck.

You have: AdBlock for Firefox version 3.23.1
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/adblock-for-firefox/
Over 1.2 million users, 4.2 average rating

You mentioned: Adblock Plus version 3.4.2
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
Over 10.5 million users, 4.6 average rating

It does, but may I suggest to use uBlock Origin instead of ABP if you want/need better Memory management. I switched a while back, as I have an old computer (2010). This uBlock Extension has a BIG button to click on to 'White List' a Website. (IOW, not use any blocking per specific Website.)
