In Options, Forms & Passwords, when I select "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites," it will fill in passwords for saved sites. When I close Firefox, and reopen, it doesn't remember this setting and doesn't fill in my passwords. I have to manually select this option again and reload the page. How can I get this option to save permanently?

The link you gave was what I read before I submitted the question.

As an experiment, I tried launching Firefox in Windows by right-clicking the icon, "run as administrator." I selected the option, and when I closed and reopened Firefox, it saved the setting permanently.

Note that some external Password Managers (Roboform, Trend Micro) can cause this issue to happen.
