Hi there,

I'm using Firefox Quantum 57.0.1 and I'm facing slowdowns and lags when I switch to a new tab. It slows down whenever I switch to a page with rich content e.g. Facebook but particularly bad whenever I switch to a Google Sheets document. Firefox becomes unresponsive for 3-5 seconds and continues as normal. Resource Monitor shows high CPU consumption during this time (up to 75%). This was not occurring on previous versions of Firefox. The problem also does not happen if the document is in separate window rather than tab.

This is related to Accessibility Service somehow. If I prevent access to Accessibility Service in Firefox options, the problem goes away. Unfortunately, I need Accessibility service. Is there anything else I could do to imporve perofmance?

Sorry to hear. Ya that is a fix for the issue of ram. Am sure they are working on it for 58 I would hope.

This is also a fix for when people still have issues : You could try this please : Go the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 go to 1 as that is what 56.0 and below where. Restart Firefox after making these changes please.

Find out how things are, then play with the Hardware Acceleration. It is for Video. So may get some tearing if not using ...or not.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance
