Can I play my .wav file voicemails directly from Thunderbird?

I get my voicemails from my office sent to me in email form with a wav file of the voicemail my client left me.

I'm making the transition from Apple Mail to Thunderbird, and with Apple Mail never had a problem loading up the voicemail right away and playing it directly from my Apple Mail Window. Now with Thunderbird, Thunderbird makes me load up the voicemail to iTunes (which is normally not loaded and open) to hear the voicemail.

Is there any way or an add-on to fix this?

Is there any way to restructure the layout of Thunderbird to mimic more of Apple Mail? I really enjoyed the layout of Apple Mail, with the accounts all the way on the left (which is the same), but then another section of Inbox where I can view the group of messages, and if I clicked on one of the multiple emails, it would expand it to the larger screen on the right. Thunderbird moves that last screen section to the bottom, which limits my view of the message.

Thunderbird swill play sounds that is embedded using HTML5 audio tags. however my guess is your mail contains JavaScript to enable the sound and Thunderbird does not allow JavaScript in email. It just poses to great a security risk
