Untrusted Connections, Plain Text sites and crashing. Please help!
Hi been using Firefox for a while now and never had any problem until about 2 or 3 months ago when Firefox started crashing if I was signed in to sync (or simply accessed the tab in options). After uninstalling as I couldn't sign out of sync any attempt crashed Firefox. When re-installing I was still signed in and when I accessed the majority of sites they were either displayed in plain text or came up with a connection untrusted warning (sites that I know and everyone else knows are legit, like google and Mozilla's sites). It's only on Firefox this is happening. Other posts with this issue are solved with updating the system clock and cleaning the cache neither of which worked like it did for most others. Another solution that was found was unwanted software that caused the problem but with daily scans coming up clean (ESET/Malwarebytes and any other tool I run on the regular, cos I'm a bit paranoid) I'm doubtful that any of that is an issue. Plus I've reinstalled my OS since the issue started so I don't think any software is to blame. Can someone please tell help me, no other browser does this even other Firefox based browsers like waterfox, only Firefox is doing it. After trying what worked for everyone else and completely removing all trace of Firefox then re-installing it, I'm out of ideas...

How about posting your Crash Report ID's as a start.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
We'll take a look at the most recent reports and see if we can identify a probable cause or causes.
There is security software like Avast and Kaspersky and BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

This Connection is Untrusted is sometimes caused because the computer system clock is wrong. Check the time / date / time zone settings.
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
If you can't inspect the certificate via "I Understand the Risks" then try this:
Open the "Add Security Exception" window by pasting this chrome URL in the Firefox location/address bar and check the certificate:
- chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul
In the location field of this window type or paste the URL of the website.
- retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
- click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer
You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer. Check who is the issuer of the certificate. If necessary then you can attach a screenshot that shows the certificate viewer.
