I used to get an arrow or something on the task bar showing new email and it would stay until I opened TBird. I no longer get this.

I used to get an email indicator on my task bar (an arrow or something) to indicate new email. This would stay there until I opened TBird. I still get a notification screen but it only stays for however long I have set in the profile and if I don't see it, I don't know I have new mail until I open TBird and look. I am running Windows 10 and it was working until the new update to 38.3.0. I have everything checked for notification. Can you help?

I am talking about the little inbox thingy with the arrow, not the large preview box. I am getting the preview box, but only for a couple minutes. I used to get the inbox icon and it stayed until I opened TBird.

Do you have any add-on like New Mail Attention installed? Check if it is updated. I don't recall seeing your arrow-alert in T-bird.

It was an indicator that looked like a little in-box with a arrow pointing down indicating new mail. All programs are updated and I don't have (never even heard of) New Mail Attention.
